How to decorate this kitchen|living room
Comments (3)Hi Petra, the basics of your kitchen and living look great, I think you just need a few splashes of colour and texture to finish the rooms off! We'd suggest a roman blind in your kitchen window, art work above a radiator cover on the wall behind your dining table, and a large rug and coffee table in front of your sofa would make a great start. I have collated some product ideas for you.... art work coffee table rug faux orchid arrangements Hope that helps! PB...See MoreAdvice please curtains and blinds
Comments (3)Hi Diana, Whenever I specify Roman Blinds I recess them into the window and put dress curtains on each side (not functioning, purely for show and to soften the look) The issue I have is that the failure rate on Romans is very high, the pull string mechanism is very delicate and can jam up after regular use. Given the choice I would not specify them. My preferred solution is to inset plantation shutters into each window and then dress the outside with a simple pair of dress curtains each side or a modern swag over the head. I have done this on traditional interiors and ultra modern and they always look good. I never have any ongoing issues and the light quality the blades give is wonderful. (I prefer a large blade and avoid the central pole in favour of a hidden mechanism.) Another interesting feature of plantation shutters is that in the evening you push the shutters up for privacy and this deflects the heat back into the room, it saves a lot of money !! Hope that helps, Martin www.angel-martin.com www.3dinteriorillustration.co.uk...See MoreLiving room curtains
Comments (10)From a practical perspective eyelets stack back a lot better, they are also a more modern look. A lot of people have an aversion to them, mainly because they are the readymade heading of choice for lots of the big retailers. That said, with a great fabric they can look stunning. if you’re still wavering on an eyelet heading, you might want to consider a wave heading. This is ultra modern, super chic and has all of the benefits of an eyelet without the metal (and you won’t find a wave in IKEA etc.) let us know if we can help more...See MoreLiving room curtain advice
Comments (4)Thanks people. Think I am going for the blue and white as I don't want to detract from the black & white art work I have and I do think the window should be classed as another wall. Doubt photos would help as room still only half completed. Been a nightmare with family illness and Covid around. Usually I'm on a roll and very good at this. Need to trust my instincts. Thanks for the comments though...See MoreHaughton
