Living room and entrance/hallway inc lighting

I am gutting my living room to start from scratch. The main tv with surround sound needs to go in this room. I have a small chimney breast on the outside of the house but I don't like my marble fire place with gas fire. I'd like to have a smaller one. I have a split in the room with beam 2/3rds way down, so its like a through lounge. The window is small and the other end is patio doors leading to a diner with full windows on two sides. The front is narrow with double front door narrowing to a hall and stairs about 3 m in. Not sure where to put lighting or sofas (which will be new) and what to do on other side of beam in the smaller area. I want a modern look with a wooden floor in greys if poss.

Hi. I think the mink velvet chairs would look great in the hall in a similar layout to the pic attached from juliettes interiors. The script chairs are encroaching on the door so don't quite work in my mind. I would have gingers jars, plants etc either side of the hall door on tables. It looks as if both the living space and hall extends further so homes could be found for the other chairs? It's difficult without seeing the full space. Great chairs and space though.

Not for clients, I generally work away from home for actually work work. On the immediate left wall as you come in will be a mirror and general "life" display of photos, up the stairs I'm going to start with old photos at the bottom and as you go up the stairs I get older / later life things, so it's like a journey :) I want to create an "experience" for when people come around

I think you'll be able to see just fine if you move the small sofa to under the window. I'd try it. You already said that the small sofa is oddly placed and you don't like where the table is, so it's really the only choice you have. I presume you mostly use the sofa opposite the t.v ? You don't say how many are in the house? I think it's just the two of you. I'm guessing that when you have friends over, then you're not really watching the T.V so much, so the sofa in front of the T.V is the one you use mostly?

Here are some photos however the panoramic ones aren't very good as the make the walls look curved. The window wall with radiator is the front and is about 8ft wide the long wall with fireplace is about 12ft upto the beam and then another 5 ft after the beam.

The room is about 8 ft wide by about 12 ft unto the beam and then another 5 ft after the beam. These are very rough measurements it might be a bit wider.
