If think you need to decide what your brief is- are you looking to build a modest room on the back of your house and just want some basic plans- you might well need an architectural technician. If you are looking for creative ideas then your choice is Architect/ designer/ architectural designer or concept planner. If you need complicated work you may need an architect and structural engineer. If you anticipate problems getting permission- perhaps your extension is unusually large or you are in a conservation area or your house is listed you need an architect with this experience, knowledge of local planners, local relationships- perhaps even with a planning consultant. It might be that your build is big with extensions, internal remodels, loft extensions etc etc- you might decide it is too big for the builder to rake in unsupervised and you might decide to find an architect who can project manage too. So you need to think about what you want, use Houzz to find that type of individual near you, then perhaps arrange to chat to more than one to better understand how they could help and to find out who you like.
Hi Jemal, we'd be happy to help. As Jonathan mentioned, coming up with a design brief should be your starting point. You can use the interactive intake form on our site to see what design options are available for you. Good luck! Ed
Houzz has lists of Professionals at the top of this page along with reviews. I would also search independent reviews such as Trustpilot, which can be a real eye opener! If you are on Facebook then find the page for your town and ask for recommendations, although take care as some people may recommend friends that they haven’t actually used.
