How to hide drain in the middle of the lawn
Comments (6)Would a wheelbarrow planter suit your style? It would be larger, you could have some trailing plants in it and it would be moveable when needed. Thought it could give a ‘just gone for a cuppa’ vibe, as though it’s just been left...See MoreDrain interfering with extension plans! Help and Ideas please!
Comments (5)Perhaps you can design an extension of your home for a fourth bedroom. Of course, you'd have to talk to an architect and someone who knows a lot about drainage. If you block or clog the drain when building or pouring the floor with concrete, it could cause your home to begin to collapse. Drainage protects your home from going underground, you know. The water must have somewhere to go. When my neighbor poured concrete under his kitchen, everything became clogged, and he had to call in specialists from drain cleaning in Toronto. He was very upset about his mistake. So be prescient and don't make these mistakes....See MoreInternal kitchen in tenement flat- how to improve?
Comments (14)When considering your upper cabinetry, it certainly looks like you would get more cupboard space by going to the ceiling. Sometimes the concern about doing this in a small space is that it could be more enclosing and visually crowd and shrink the space. A thought would be to have to the ceiling cabinets but a little slimmer so they aren't so deep that they close in the bench area. Bench space is of a premium so maybe the upper cabinets could be made bespoke so that you could have an open shelf in the corner above the microwave, not square into the corner but angled to run across that corner, so you can lift the microwave off the bench. Keeping the bench clear could also be of benefit in your new kitchen, so hanging racks for utensils and spices that are close to the wall could be worth considering. Others have suggested moving the fridge out but hmmm, not a fan of how that would go living with a kitchen half in the living area. Certainly search small kitchens for some design ideas and tips, sometimes it's amazing how well a well thought out kitchen can work in a small space with all the neccessary elements....See MoreKitchen extension complicated by hidden manhole cover
Comments (4)You could give your local building control a call, they may even have plans for the drainage and as you already have an extension they would/should of signed it all off and approved the current drainage, which should of been on the approved plans for the current side extension. TBH I wouldn't start any work untill planning/building regs approval....See MoreTani H-S
