NB. Wardrobes come fully fitted, hand painted in your colour of choice and with a choice of woodgrain interior. Wooden door knobs (as standard) can be upgraded to brushed/shiny metal knobs and drawer pulls as you wish. All bespoke, to fit your space perfectly.

Hello fhparis I painted my 1980's fitted dark brown wardrobes a year ago. I was able to remove a shelf which i used to practice on and to get an idea of the finish i could achieve. Or indeed if i could do it. Your wardrobes are lighter in colour which is a plus. I mentioned the products i used in an earlier post. Dont underestimate how long it will take to do. I think i applied 3 undercoats and at least 3 top coats. It was well worth the effort and cost a fraction of buying new wardrobes. The pics show 2 sets of painted wardrobes. Weve got fitted wardrobes in my bedroom. They are deeper than normal as we wanted them to fill the alcove, but we’ve ended up with so much storage it’s just amazing! They are shaker style (I don’t do modern) in a soft stone. The rest of my furniture is white country style from The Cotswold Company. I don’t like all my furniture to be too matchy matchy. The only drawback with fitted wardrobes is the cost!

I also think it is a little low but it really depends on what needs doing. If you have to replace every wire in the house it is not enough but most likely you just need to add additional sockets, add spotlights in key rooms like kitchens and bathrooms, add smoke alarm wiring, additional power to the kitchen as we tend to put more appliances in our kitchens now and replace the fuse board. If you also need to move the meters or the fuse board if you intend to add things not previously considered such as under floor heating, outdoor lighting, extensions this will push the price up further. I would likely be budgeting £8000 unless you really want to go to town.

My wardrobes from Sharpes were £3000 and they were 6 doors (three double doors), no mouldings. However my sister recently had a sliding wardrobe installed in a bedroom, built in cupboard with shelves in sitting room, various doors installed, including a sliding door and in-built storage under the stairs for the same price! Certainly worth finding a good carpenter or two to quote as it may well be cheaper than a big company.
