Help with new front door colour, please!

Hi - We're ordering a new front door as per the design in the attached photo. We just can't decide which colour. We have an East facing front door so lots of light in the morning and shade. We're also getting the drive way flattened and gravelled so its a WIP. Any ideas?S Stifkey blue is a starter but do we need something brighter?

Hello. Which image is which door? Ie is that your house at the bottom and the new door is the red design? Or vice versa?

You could do a red that blends with the brick, lick this: If your house is attached, try to maintain a mass look with your neighbor. Don't change trim or other details. Keep it consistant. If your neighbor likes the front door color then they could do it, too. Think of having one house where one door is one color and the other is another, the trim is one color in one section and another in the second section. I'm sure you get what I mean. But I think even if the neighbor wants to stay white, that would be OK. Another favorite on Houzz for front doors is blue. How about a dark blue like this: The right yellow would work: Or Black: Some colorful planters by the entry would also make you stand out - in a good way. Good luck!

Many door companies offer this feature. Rockdoor and Walkers window company have a design your own door feature which allows you to create a door of your choice and visualise on your property. other companies such as solidor only allow you to design a door.

I would be inclined to have wall washing lights either side. Not sure about a canopy unless it is pitched like the existing porch roof with brick infill either side but otherwise kept open. Maybe stick with the lights first to see if that alone does the trick. Making the bed on the left the same shape as that on the right and repeating the planting would help to bring symmetry. I am not sure about the two tall Pom Pom shrubs in front of the windows. Sorry I cannot make out what they are. Could they be moved one at each corner of the house perhaps to make a full stop? Taking away some of the grass to extend the drive in front of the door would open up the entrance too. It is difficult to see on the photo but the grass seems to curve towards the door. It would be better if it followed the curve of the drive out and away from the door, basically an expansion of your step that seems to be a curve, and then return in front of the bed on the left in the photo. You could have a path here in front of the left bed in the same material as the drive. I know planting and reconfiguration of your drive wasn’t on your remit so I hope you don’t mind!
