Would you decorate differently if you didn't have children?
Comments (27)My hand-bag should be much lighter these days but it's not. Big ones are away from home, small ones are teens - so old enough to cram all their worldly goods into their own pockets + suck it up if anything is lost/broken in their care. Now handbag is full of elderly relative's goods - prescription meds, haemorrhoid creams, spare nebuliser capsules, pocket hankies, spare catheter bag, his appointment cards, his paperwork, his pension card + shopping list, Vicks Vapo-rub, a caipín .... Car emptied of pushchairs + buggies + car-seats, replaced with walking sticks, 4 wheel rollator, Handybar for ease of getting in + out. Have learner plates + disability sticker on windscreen ... Ho hum...See MoreIf you had £1000 to spare, what would you buy?

Comments (58)Update january 2022 - Happy New Year everyone! Gosh, 18 months into our renovation now, still loving the house, still lots to do! We are currently having all the guttering and down pipes replaced which has pretty much eaten up the last of our budget, but it'll be worth it to stop the random leaks we've been getting. We have made good progress on the 'posh' living room at the front of the house. The biggest change is the fireplace. Like all the rest in the house it had been ripped out and replaced with a horrid 80's gas thing. We pulled out the 80's monstrosity and were excited to find... A horrible 40's monstrosity! The original was long gone. Luckily I came across an edwardian original on ebay and snapped it up for £99! Sadly it cost a lot more than that to get the flue lined and the fire reinstated but never mind. Hubs did a great job as ever removing wallpaper and fixing walls (two full layers of filler!) and we've even managed to get some colour on. Lot's still to do including all the woodwork but loving it so far!...See MoreWhat carpet would work best here...
Comments (21)I thought I recognised your name! How did the kitchen colour go in the end? I think a Persian would be lovely, and the pattern would hide any paw marks although wool is meant to dispel any dirt. I’m a bit limited on colour Options but also tried it in a yellow (I was after an F&BIndian yellow but couldn’t get the shade!) It may not be your thing but you can go bold in a dining room?...See More- 5 years ago
