Comments (7)Thanks Minnie those are really helpful comments. The family bathroom walls are from the original house walls. The architect suggested the cubby hole for the toilet as he thinks moving the walls would be too big a job. But I agree that I'd prefer it enlarged properly, that bath is actually 1.4m long, the smallest we could find which would fit the new limited space. We have a builder coming round tomorrow so I will ask him about moving the wall. The utility room is 2.2m wide. 60cm for units each side with 1m gap. We are planning on leaving the units out of one side for now for buggy storage, but I would like to put more storage in there when that's out of the way as we are losing our garage which stored all the junk up to now. So maybe we should enlarge it to 2.4m? The only reason I didn't go for the sofa facing the bifolds and garden was that it meant blocking in the play room slightly, but perhaps it could work with a corner sofa, or like you said a smaller sofa. that would also solve the glare issue. A coffee table a foot stool would be great I think. We haven't put too much thought into to the island as this wasn't necessary for planning, but I definitely want some foot stools. We did talk about maybe having it come out from the side of the wall instead of an island. We have that now and quite like it. But the plan is to have the dishwasher etc under there, plus leg space for stools. Yes that's the Fridge Freezer. I just plonked it there as I'm not sure where else it could go really. I guess next to the windowless neighbours wall where the hob is currently....See MoreWhat would look best on this wall... and lighting.
Comments (10)Good points about the drawers, I agree they would look better moved to the end of the run. Then perhaps I could have doors that open over the corner of the breakfast bar to improve access. Although I was going to have bins in that end cupboard so it might not work after all. Currently considering scrapping the oven tower and maybe keeping our current freestanding oven (or getting a range if budget permits). I'm so indecisive and feeling the pressure as my husband just says yeah to everything I suggest without really thinking about it! The breakfast bar is currently 113cm plus any overhang so I can't work out of pendant lights would look a bit cramped over it? If so, perhaps just one central pendant light with spotlights. I quite like a more vintage style. I'll be keeping my green delonghi kettle and toaster so will try and work in colour to blend....See MoreHelp, my kitchen feels unfinished...
Comments (25)Both rooms look great, love the doors and windows too! I find the cabinet rather domineering in terms of the door and dining table. Have you considered painting that wall in something like railings (last pic) so the cabinet fades into the background and anything else will stand out? I'd then add another abstract art display similar to what's over your sofa plus a tall palm as others have suggested where the bureau is (would look great in the hall if you have room). I'd pick up more of the mid century/abstract style you have for a rug, 3rd pic is from westelm. I don't think you need anything on the window wall personally, the windows and garden views are enough. I might centre the table under the light, add a sheepskin or a throw on one of the chairs kitchen side just to break up the wooden chairs and stools. Maybe move the hydrangea to the island and swap the vase for something in mustard and add some taller eucalyptus stems. For the table some textured bowls for fruit or veg would look good maybe with a decanter or 2...See MoreMonica
