Flooring - ground floor with underfloor heating

I am thinking of doing the entire ground floor of our new build with stone flooring. It is the best conductor of underfloor heating. Even the sitting room. I like the idea of one continuous flooring through out so as not to chop up the ground floor, so it has a seamless flow. Or, should I consider engineered wood through out?
My husband wants carpeting in the sitting room?
i will upload a floor plan shortly.
Any thoughts?
