love your kitchen! do you mind sharing the size of the island, and the space surrounding on both sides?

Thank you for the kind words, if i remember correctly the island was 36'' by 108'' and the space on the back was 40'' and the front 44''

Am pretty sure that if I was a kitchen designer I wouldn't spend hours working out the cost of a kitchen that likely won't fit. However I have met several who could tell you if the budget you have in mind is enough to fill the space and perhaps direct you to some of the cabinet and worktop choices in your budget so that you can start to get excited about eventually planning your kitchen. It might even be possible for the company you choose to visit the house to measure with the current owners permission. What area are you in? Perhaps people could offer recommendations for kitchen studios?

Hello, we have a 2300mm x 1200mm island and 4 seats altogether in a right angle ( 2 on each side ). On the 1200mm side there are 2 seats so 600mm per person, on the 2300mm side there is 1400mm for the seating so 700mm per person ( but need to take into account of the corner ). The overhang is 300mm. The proportions seem fine. I guess it also depend in the depth of your cupboards underneath. Definitely don't have 5 seats in a row, they look nice in photos but it would be tricky to talk to each other. I only have a photo without the seats at the moment but we have since bought bar stools and the proportions do work, it's just that my island is currently too messy to take a photo :-). I'll try and take one in the morning with the bar stools in!

The island size is fine and all the measurements around it that you have mentioned. The only thing that would concern me at all in the dining room table to the double doors there. I am guessing they are exterior doors so it shouldn't be a problem. It also looks like a bench diner so should be OK to push in a little? With 2M between the dining table (pulled out) and the island, I would also consider moving a stool to the end of the island and moving the unit to replace one on the run. This allows much better communication for people sitting at the island. Something we hear a lot from people with three in a row is that it is hard to talk and they find themselves only using one or two seats as that's most comfortable. Just an idea. Overall I love the whole thing and that it's a good use of space and dimensions which isn't always the case - so good work :)

Ah, @Daisy England, I too am a fan of L-shaped corners - but not in the 900x900 variant, which I find far too awkward to access, as the opening is only 4520ish diagonally. But my main kitchen provider does truly wonderful options in 1030x1030 (2x 400 doors, 570w diagonal) and a whopping 1080x1080 (2x 450 doors, diagonal opening of 650 ish). They are a really great & inexpensive way to kit out a corner and keep everything accessible. Or for compact kitchens my German manufacturer does a really great 800x800 L-shaped carousel unit - great for tight spaces! Caldicot Kitchens
