If you could name a colour, what would you call it?
Comments (53)trasimeno love it as an ice breaker game! Italian sky sounds gorgeous! I suspect Rioja Red has already been done but still sounds delicious and would make a great colour....See MoreAnyone know what this is called and how I can find?
Comments (8)Apologies, it's wood. I should have mentioned that. I know I can probably get someone to make one bespoke, but with a whole house to renovate and restore I'm trying to keep costs down where possible...See MoreMy style: what do you call it?
Comments (14)@sonia funny coincidence our Italian heritage! Do you also speak (some) Italian? I moved to the UK some 12 years ago to study and never left (Lancaster, Liverpool). I love Campania... I visited a few times and I have friends from there. I am from near Milan instead. :-) I had indeed seen large ottomans used as coffee tables and love them - it would be a very good idea, but the coffee table is a present so it cannot go... I need to work around it, I guess. I suppose my sense was that one would sit on the sofa staring into the dining area, whereas it would be better to sit opposite or at least at an angle to someone... two pouffes or small ottomans (maybe 60cmx60cm) I thought could do the job. But would they just clutter the space too much? Or maybe would it be better to change the sofa to something L-shaped instead, like a sectional, enclosing the area somewhat? The furniture is indeed very chunky solid wood and I think a bit dated - but I bought the flat part-furnished (they would not sell otherwise) so I am replacing bits at a time. Which is fine, butt a bit tricky for consistency because I cannot replace things in one go and see how they work together. I really like the idea of a mid-century table, 4 chairs instead (maybe something with slender, tapered legs, maybe in brass so the puppy cannot chew them!) of 6 and maybe a nice rug under the dining area (again, when my puppy grows). Sorry for the long message - you give me food for thought! Grazie mille Sonia!...See MoreWhat would you call this finish/style of kitchen cabinets?
