Hi Annetta, the island bench is 800mm wide. Hope this helps.

thanks I won't be able to go as long as 2800, 2400 would probably be too long and impact on the other seating area but 2200 is ideal, also Im allowing 1m for depth as I was told that u need 300mm to sit comfortably. my only concern is how the island will look if the drawers are only 600mm deep with an overhang of 300mm on the far side prefer it when it looks more filled in but then I can't fit 3/4 stools around the island ie 3 on the length and 1 on the far end. any suggestions.

That's more then enough space between the island and bifold door, and the island and the sink, not to worry. For your peace of mind, the island can be moved around before the final stage of installation, so just stand in front of it and check the distance, open the doors especially the dishwasher door and see if you can move around comfortably. If you are happy then let them finish the work. We had to move this whole island with the quartz as the ceiling lights were fitted slightly to the left.

Oh, you sound so stressed! Other than the 3D rendering, I would recommend the old cardboard box trick to show how tight all the spaces are. Not only will you not be able to stand in front of your beautiful sleek drawers when you open them - you'll have to stand next to them - imagine coming in the door from the hall with a bag of shopping or your kids coming in with backpacks and then sliding through an 87 cm space. You need a lot more circulation space for a comfortable, working kitchen AND you won't be able to visually appreciate this island of your dreams where it is currently (as Jonathan said). Perhaps move the kitchen and island down in front of the internal bifold doors so you can see the island from a distance and gain more width and then have the seating at the end with the TV on the wall you already suggested, like this photo that J posted: Good luck!

Jonathan - thanks, looks great but we hoped to have as much of the rear wall glazed as possible I did have a thought to put a low lying wall - around 1.1m high - and put kitchen units against it. That way we can have a sort-of kitchen island, and push dining table against the other side to leave enough room for seating area. Realistically it will be very few days in the year that we have more than 4 people round the dining table so I’m sure we can push the living room furniture over to the side if we need to pull out the dining table? Has anyone done this?
