The exterior looks great:) for the interior I agree with others and use it as a garden room with a little bar area. I was hunting for an image I saw just lately but couldn’t find it, thankfully Houzz must have read my mind and re posted it: https:/https://www.houzz.co.uk/ideabooks/111725807/list/get-the-look-of-the-london-home-design-awards-2018-winners The winning garden design was what I was thinking. Might be a bit eclectic for your taste but I love the yellow walls with lots of green plants and in particular the tiled floor with an ethnic style rug. Definitely think a lovely patterned tile floor (or fake lino) would look great. Question is; where are you going to put the lawnmower?

I think you need a good quality general builder. Try to find one with several guys on the workforce so that there is a broad range of experience but you only have to deal with one person. I would get more than one firm around and look for local recommendations to help decide. The carport may require planning permission so seek the advice of your planning department at the local Borough Council. If your conservatory has a glass or polycarbonate roof it may not be thermally efficient to open it to the house. It may be better to keep doors to it from the main house or you could rebuild it to a higher standard. You should source the bifold door with the agreement of the builder that they are the correct size. Make sure you plan well and they arrive when the builder needs them. You should choose your own engineered wood floor and have the builder lay it. Best of luck

Thank you all. I’m up to my eyes with tradesmen as this is a full house Reno so days are disappearing . Hoping photos come through this time. Taken from the doorway looking towards conservatory which is the “window” . Only other windows are two small original lead lights to either side of French doors. No fireplace. Other aspects if the home will be traditional / contemporary to stay in keeping with the age and characteristics already present. Informal dining will will be in the kitchen , which will be used most. This room will be dinner parties , special occasions , so I thought perhaps a table that could extend . I don’t want garden type furniture in the conservatory but I have seen rattan chairs that look casual but definitely smart too. My problem is that I see lovely bits and pieces but I don’t think they tie the rooms together. I am hitting a blank , so was hoping that someone might have more ideas radical or otherwise that can assist. My benefit is that at present I have no furniture for either room so I have flexibility. Well you could definitely save money by leaving the grass as it is and not astroturfing it. The grass looks great, & other than not wanting to cut it regularly, I’m not sure why you’d want to replace it, plus real grass is beneficial to wildlife / birds for getting worms, etc. Keep the grass & spend the money saved on getting someone in to cut it regularly - I’m sure a local teenager would happily do it for a tenner a time. The plants where you’ve mentioned you’d like seating areas look like box plants which are fairly pricey as they get bigger so if you remove them, consider selling them to get some money back. However they would also be good planted as structural plants elsewhere in the garden. Although you’re not green fingered, maybe your children might like a small area to dig in / plant some seeds, when they’re not busy bouncing! Good luck, I’m sure you’ll get other ideas on here too.
