TV Wall decorating dilemma

This wall doesn’t look complete. Do I add decor, art? Ceiling is 9 ft. Open concept living,dining, kitchen. Also, suggestions for doorway lighting that would complement the chandelier, pendant or flush mount. All suggestions welcome, open to any changes. Many thanks.

For the entry light I would look into switching it to a recessed light, looks like a slopped ceiling, so sometimes flush-mounted lights look strange in that application, I wouldn't want a second hanging light as there is enough going on there.

In your living room, the balance is completely off, I would sell the two very large floor lamps and invest in a large tv console remove the slipper chairs and put the two wing-backs across from each other centered to the coffee table.

Ahhh, thank you. That makes sense, but I do need the extra seating. If not the slipper chairs, is there a different type of chair I should use? Also, the entry ceiling is flat, so is flush mount ok?

Is that a chimney to the left ? Maybe a low cabinet or lift up box to safely cover the electrics . Then the TV on the flat wall on an angle bracket that can be positioned to suit ?! Toddlers might decide to climb on box to get closer to tv though !! They can be resourceful !!! Love your orange chairs by the way !!!

From looking at the picture I'd say the radiator and the TV set up are clashing with each other for space. If you can sacrifice the radiator and you have enough heat from elsewhere in the room then you can make that area just about the TV unit. I'd also recommend hiding the cables from the TV into the wall as well. Do you know if that wall is a stud wall or a brick wall? Stud would be very easy to conceal the cables, brick would be a little bit messier.

So you get sun for a good part of the day which means the room is quite bright. The black sofas are light sapping, so if you are keeping them you need the throws and cushions to help brighten them up. I rather like your dark wood furniture and they will be improved with plants to give a bit of a colonial or tropical vibe. You could wallpaper one wall in something a bit tropical to add lovely greens. Some are quite colourful so you can pick colours out for your accessories. In which case a nice soft white on the rest of the walls would look great. The wall behind the tv and table looks like a good wall to wallpaper. You can’t deny it gives you plenty of colour!

I’m not a decorator however I think if you just put the lamps behind the chairs it will look fine. Maybe skooch the chairs a little closer to the tv. Then I would put smaller art over the chairs.

I think you could do a flush mount or a semi-flush. if you need the extra seating I would first think about a new console and then add the seating after so the scale is correct...

I agree that you need a longer console for the TV and to lower the TV. The slipper chairs are too little and you can't possibly watch the TV from them. They aren't really part of a conversation group either. Try putting two chairs together on each side so they face each other across the rug. If you decide to buy new chairs, get ones that swivel so people can face the TV or the people on the sofa.
