Ikea shoe cabinet legs

I really want this shoe cabinet for my hallway but the legs aren’t long enough to fit over my tall skirting boards. Has anyone worked out a good solution/hack to this? There’s some great leg extensions on Etsy made specifically for this cabinet but annoyingly they’re in the US

If you are good with diy, cut the legs square, and add new ones!there are quite a few sites selling nice ones!

How much more height dou you need?, Would castors work to give it a lift?

Thanks for the reply Matthew :) I have been looking on eBay, but I felt that most of the ones on there weren't nice enough to be on display all the time. I don't mind there being a plastic pad on the bottom to protect the floor, but most of them looked like a chrome version of what I currently have, which has a sort of screw in it because it's adjustable. That looks quite unattractive. The solid ones you've linked to look nice but I don't think they'd go with my bathroom because of the curves. How would you go about cutting that one down to size? I thought it might be a bit too complicated and look a bit off with the angles.

Is that because you are tall ? As the new base cabinets are 80cm tall hence the 8cm legs ... if you add 15cm legs on an 80cm cabinet with a 40mm worktop you will be looking at a working height of 99cm rather than the uk average of 91cm or 92cm ... ( in direct answer - I don't know - sorry !)

I was once told that you shouldn’t have more than 2 types of wood in only one space. The floor looks lovely and I’d be tempted to paint all the wooden furniture so that they read as a matching set. Rather than make them a ‘feature’ with a bright coloured paint, I’d push them into the background using a white wooden stain or antique white cracked paint. Add a toughened glass top to help reflect daylight giving protecting to the paint. If budget allowed, I’d be tempted to invest in a neutral coloured rug bringing more daylight into the room. It could be look very sophisticated!

it looks lovely, love the brick. Why not look for a Victorian Pine linen cupboard, they tend to be quite shallow so should fit in the recess and you could also paint it in the wall colour if you want it to blend in. you would need a pole/s hung the other way to normal so as to stack the coats front to back (if I'm describing that very well!). Sorry for the slow reply... thank you for your replies, it’s been helpful to have some more ideas. I need an extra 6cm height so castors could work, otherwise I think I’ll go for some new legs entirely. Although I’m also wondering if I can get a bit trimmed off the back panel to sit alongside the skirting board. Decisions!
