Kitchen design driving me crazy!
Comments (34)Hello Charlie, You're welcome! Well the down draft was just one suggestion and they do vary in aesthetic but if you want free flow across the island then the ceiling version is better. Yes I too like the idea of not seeing the hood at all..... I think you can tease out that design out of your kitchen designer but here's another suggestion on that idea... http://www.iconappliances.co.uk/cooker-hoods/recessed-ceiling/abk-neerim-recessed-ceiling-hood-external-motor-required.html Yes I prefer the Ashtanga Yoga it's far more exciting if you haven't tried it do! .. So why not have a mix of touch open hinge mechanisms and the cup handles for the drawers.. Well... you're not going to be floored by the flooring! .. I have a trade account with a fantastic company but they only sell to trade so... Here's one that has some nice shades that I found- Chevron is another nice design too to consider... : )) http://www.havwoods.co.uk/search/havwoods-design-herringbone-blocks...See MoreA lounge with a more contemporary feel
Comments (9)Hi Amanda The thing to think about is how you use the space (and what you really want to use space for) - is the dining room used every day or just at Christmas; in the living room do you use it to watch tv or mainly to sit around doing crafts or chatting to friends. Also it looks like the dining room is the bigger of the two rooms? I personally wouldn't remove the doors, because although it looks cool in photos from California, in the UK the reality is that it just makes hard to heat and noisy rooms. If like most of us the dining room is not used for dining every day I would consider swapping it into the smaller room and incorporating storage for a home office or crafts room there to make the space useful all year round. Then the living room can have the space it needs to have the two sofas either at right angles to each other or facing each other and get the tv in a nice position to view it or hide it in a cupboard if it's not watched much. If you are going down the grey route I wouldn't go crazy with it, farrow and ball's 'shaded white' looks cream in daylight but grey under artificial light. Whatever colour you choose I would paint both rooms the same to give some continuity because you can see through those doors....See MoreIsland back panel ideas!
Comments (19)That looks great, a lovely bit of pattern interest and I think the back of the island is a lovely place to have that splash of pattern! As I'm in the process of planning an island myself, could I just ask: is that a 300mm overhang and do you find it's comfortable enough? And how do you find it having the power point on the back there - does it work ok? I want plenty of power points on the island and just don't know where to put them!...See Moreip44 bathroom globe pendant lighting
Comments (35)Both mirrors are 90x60cm, I would still like a capsule mirror but there isn’t one to use on the software so used these shapes to get an idea. Thought the rectangle would be more imposing than a capsule to get an idea of what a capsule would look like :)...See MoreMartin Lawrence
