Thank you very much. I live in the US, and can't seem to find a large aggregate Terrazzo. Diespeker has what I am looking for. I hope they ship to the US.

Hello Cato creative ltd, Whilst its not my kind of kitchen, I do think you can work with this... The reason you feel it is out of "sink" yes I like a bit of wit in the morning.. Is because its the brightest colour in the room... I like the two colours together too and so I would not change this but work with it! Ways to do this would be "beautiful" accessories... or perhaps change a floor tile or two to the colour of the splash back.... Window blinds, another wall in the room to match... other smaller things like dinner sets or some other visible elements.. Vases or a beautiful fruit bowl as some examples. (Its not an earthy natural kitchen so my choices are based on the materials you currently have and the style of the kitchen) A lot of people refer to this idea as "pops" of colour - a term I don't like at all, but you can very easily make this choice a deliberate one rather than an afterthought, you just need to carry on a little bit but choose wisely.... One more thing... Add a bit more marble as this is a nice contrast to the other materials. I also prefer an upstand to complete a worktop. If you had offcuts etc, these make good chopping boards, serving plates etc... If one thing had to change for me it would be the flooring.. I would have chosen a mustard terrazzo. :)) This one is a little close up with a few additions... You'll notice there's a bit of green which would also suit... It doesn't have to be Murano glass but you see how you can add interest, the stripy vase has both the grey and the mustard if you look and makes for something unexpected to add to the focal point. Hey! I've just seen the last comments. I live in Spain and there doesn't seem to be as much choice over here as there is in the USA after browsing at lot.. the Gubi light does look similar to one of the Tom Dixon beats shapes and I like the oriental vibe they give.. I am leaning toward that style for the pendants and will probably end up going with one. As for the splashback.. it's a nightmare.. I really have no idea.. I think dark like black and I think it will look to much and take away from the accents.. I think of grey and I think it's too boring and monocromatic.. I think of colour and I get scared lol.. really don't know and to be honest... I do regret going all white in the kitchen and not going with something darker or mid tone on the lowers at the back to ground it a bit more. I see so many kitchens on Instagram and Pinterest and I am always drawn to the darker ones.. but as I have a darker floor, I thought it would be too much. Anyway, it's done now and I guess we all have things we would do differently. I could always relacquer the lower doors quite cheaply if it came to it I guess. I really love Hague Blue by farrow and ball and have always wanted to use it but I think it wouldn't fit in anywhere and I'm not brave enough anyway🙈 Some good news is that I have finally managed to get the stonemason to change the island worktop which he destroyed after cleaning it with paint thinner.. after 4 months of fighting and the carpenter also finished up all the last details this week.. after 5 months. Stonemason has offered to give me a big discount on the splashback if I put a slab on the wall but really have no idea.. options are Dekton, Silestone, Neolith and Compac colours. By the way.. just saw this flat on pinterest and it reminded me of mine a bit but well done and with a more interesting kitchen.. trying to get some inspiration from it: https://hot-walls.ru/portfolio/сердце-столицы-99/ My favourite designs seem to all be Russian for some reason.. 😅

I agree with the worktops and tiles being totally plain, but what colour should I pick? the only two light colours are white and beige. I am a little worried that an all-white kitchen would look too clinical. Would beige tiles look "dirty" as a backsplash? Should I keep the wood accent somehow or use wood cabinets? I have noticed designers matching terrazzo with wood a lot! Matching cabinets, worktops, backsplash, and floor is a headache to me!

Depending on the harshness of the light coming through the window (which may only suit light coloured walls) I’d be tempted to go for a more sumptuous eye catching look by going darker and rely more on fairly bright but flexible led lighting (mixture of task and diffused/reflected off the white ceiling) to keep the dimness at bay. Also, a nicely done room that’s supposed to look dark won’t feel so gloomy on a dull day. Dark grey walls for example with dark orange tiles forming splashbacks (or maybe just mostly dark grey tiles with 20 to 30% in a contrasting colour). The floor‘s just fine but something very pale & glossy could help lift the whole room (go for legs over plinths). Good luck with whatever you end up with!
