I love the downlights, where could I get them

I would love to have downlights/picture lights like the one in this home. Where could I get them - or similar, I wonder?

Hi Gill, these lights were actually client supply so I can't tell you the exact fitting. However Astro lighting produce some really nice architectural fittings that are similar. I don't think you're the first to ask after this light. Its really lovely! The closest I know of is this one from West Elm: http://www.westelm.co.uk/metal-honeycomb-drum-pendant-w875 You could potentially spray paint it gold/brass if thats a better match for your hardware. Another option would be to have them made, I know that several garden centres/timber yards often have someone creative with wood who would love to make something up. HI, yes agree, 2 or three pendants depending on the size over the peninsula, those Broadway Emery Vintage Mini pendant lights are good as they're only 20cm across. You'd need larger for the dining table. The Artisan Lamp holder with braided flex is just a pendant fitting that you have to put a shade on, so it wouldn't work unless you can find a shade that you like. Still best to go for items from the same range, You need a pendant light fitting for the dining room in the range of 300mm to 500mm wide depending on how wide and long the table is really. Regards the spots, keep those on the kitchen light switch as a separate entity, so on or off, and have separate spurs for your dining room and the island so that you can dim them and have them on or off without the kitchen lights. Make sure, as i said earlier that you buy dimmable switches and dimmable bulbs.

A meeting half way often saves a marriage. So, I propose leaving the covers off, but installing shelves above some, so that the items above detract from the radiators below. Also there are a number of skirting radiators (long and skinny) that can fit along the floor, so making this a no mess solution. There are also a number of amazing modernist styles that look like wall sculptures rather than radiators, so would look amazing displayed in the centre of the wall, rather than below and out of sight. These are options that instead of spending on a radiator cover, you may want to spend the same on replacing an ugly radiator with a more aesthetically pleasing one. There is something to be said about something that is ugly and gets covered. Why not chuck it out instead?
