How to get the RAL code for a colour name

I need to colour match a colour as I want it in a wood paint and the colour I have found is a stain. How would I find the RAL/BS code?

you could try a web search for ral equivalent to the colour you have found. what is the colour you are trying to match? I may be able to look and find the equivalent on my sample sets.

let me know the colour detail please.

The cupboards look nice but I know what you mean when you have a colour in your head and it doesn't look like that. I'm thinking get the door company to do the black blue and then get the closest RAL colour for the garage door and then perhaps get someone to spray it with F&B later on. Anyway the saga continues... Will send pics and keep you posted when we sort it out. Thanks for all your help and suggestions

My OH is red/green colour blind so you have my sympathies - it has led to some interesting conversations, like the time in John Lewis the OH helpfully told me not to worry, as he'd located a white fitted sheet...........which was eau de nil. LOL Hence I always choose the colours and decor in the house. I think that Jonathan's suggestion is spot on. Someone to help with colours and design will pay dividends in the long run. I think Forzaitalia's first picture of a soft colour palette is lovely, light and airy and it's a look I'd go for. As for leather/fabric, we have both, leather in one sitting room, fabric in the other and I prefer the fabric one I prefer the overall look of it and two, for the same reason as Daisy England, I can't get comfy on the leather one and the cushions keep slipping off. And as it's getting on a bit now, the cats have ruined it with claw marks - weather wilful or accidental damage! So pets are something to think about if you have any.

hi Kirsten,

I dont have a swatch for that, so have relied on the screen for the match. you have two possible contenders from the Ral spectrum. Ral 1015 light ivory which is more of a cream. The second is 9001 cream. There is 9002 which is light grey but not sure that your colour is heading into a grey.

hope this gives you some options to look at

Thank you for that. I have got a tester of the 9002, as you say, it’s slightly grey.
