Colour scheme for bedrooms
Comments (4)Hi there, love the idea of a duck egg or lilac colour scheme... Farrow & Ball do some lovely shades of blue, such as Light Blue or Lulworth Blue - which F & B claim is great in bedrooms as it promotes deep and peaceful sleep! Dix Blue and Theresa's Green are also great shades that have warming tones: http://www.farrow-ball.com/colours/paint/fcp-category/list?isSearchFilterSuffix=true&results=999&visModel=CHANNEL&filters=COLOUR_GROUP_FILTER_LANG_en-GB:green,blue!Hierarchy_TOP_NAVIGATION_FILTER:/TOP_NAVIGATION/wc_shop_all/wc_paint_all/wc_paint_colours If you chose to go for a more lilac colour scheme, I would probably keep the walls a warm cream or grey colour and add accents of lilac with the soft furnishings. Headboard wise you could opt for a slightly more vibrant colour, here's one of ours in a more vibrant Duck Egg colour by Designer's Guild....See MoreContemporary bedroom door colour
Comments (8)Personally if I was having a padded wall, I would let that be the feature point of the room. If you introduce a coloured featured wall it may fight for attention. If you want something bright, why not do the padded wall in a bold or bright colour? Or if you want a little colour try duck egg which goes with pretty much everything.I've attached a couple of pics using neutrals. The 1st one may be a little feminine in style but the colour combos are quite restful. . Or why not try the taupe and black Iv the room is light enough? I think the colour combo makes it look a little expensive. Images from Noel Jeffrey and image-gallery....See MorePOLL: Best bedroom colour schemes?
Comments (20)I love some lusciousness in my bedroom ... reds. pinks and oranges! (yes I also have lighter softer colours but like some fun thrown it too otherwise feels so boring). Am surprised that pink wasn't one of the choices! People talk a lot about serenity and seem to forget about other types of energy in the bedroom. It is said that the bedroom is mainly for 2 things both beginning with "S" and yet most people seem to only focus on the sleep bit....See MorePaint colour for bedroom?
Comments (52)Hi Patrina and Jules I hope you've both had a good lockdown? I've been slowly getting on with things in the house while working from home. Doing a lot of volunteering too until getting a bug (not that one apparently) in the last couple of weeks, so not much time for Houzz, sadly. We've built a big planter in our communal back lane, planted a wisteria by the front door, and we're halfway through painting the hall a deep emerald green. We realised looking at the bedroom photos today that there's already a big graphic statement made by the wardrobe doors. We only noticed the doors aren't identical once we'd put them up! The plan is to put two identical doors in the middle, with one each of the other pair on either side. Anyway, as the room is quite shallow, I think anything graphic on the opposite wall might clash, so what I need (if anything) is something textural and possibly unstructured. Other half is keen on Jules MC's stringy panel, but I think it might be a bit too Boho and 'young'. I'd enjoy making it though!...See Moreminnie101
