Grey AND black painted elements in the same garden. Does it work?!

Simple question that I can't seem to find the answer for. Could you have both grey and black painted elements in a garden? Black fence and a grey pergola for example? doesn't have to be painted, could be grey alu or pvc windows with black elsewhere in the garden. Does anyone have any pictures of this? Does it exist?

Haven’t found an Pix of them but yes I’d say it would look good together.

Yes. I have a black shed and grey fences and it looks fine though they are not next to each other.

No need for everything to match IMO.

Light colours always help to make a garden pretty so maybe try a pastel colour. I'm personally in love with a sort of light mint colour, this works really well with white (but any pastel will) cornflour is nice too for gardens as it is more of a contrast to the leaves. Growing a climber up some trellis on the wall might be an idea too, honeysuckle smells very sweet and attracts butterflies but any climber again will work. I have attached the mint colour I meant just for clarity, a word of caution would be that it can look a little clinical so to be used in moderation.

colour paint for garage in garden?

Hi guys!! Updating this as I need more help. Well the paint has not weathered well!!! Even though I had cleaned the original wall and got rid of the algae - it's come back and is now bright green all along the bottom of the garage. Also some of the paint is flaking on the front which it shouldn't do surely if it's masonry?? So I'm back to square one, sigh. I plan on buying a specialist algae remover from a specialist company which is super strong and then perhaps getting an undercoat (as previously mentioned by ED) or sealer to seal existing finish. then using a branded masonry paint like stormshield by Johnstones. However - I'm now thinking of painting it in a darker grey anthracite colour as after having had it white for a few months, I really don't like it! BUT - I still have the issue of all the off white windows and guttering which has yellowed slightly so don't know if I am just making far more work for myself. I feel the darker colour would hide any returning algae but then the bad plastic will look awful next to it so I don't know what to do. Also I'm limited on timescale as we are putting the house on the market in a few months and I have so much painting to do outside (the house front, garage, all the new gates and fencing - and it's all got to be done as soon as the frost goes and when it's not rainy! argh. HELP

I havent managed to paint the chairs yet but have hidden the yellow one from sight for now. I couldnt bare to see it there any longer ;-) (Sorry ED) I will paint them same colour as table the next time I have a spare moment. I've added a splash of colour to my vase... and I think that might be a safer option!!

Hate to throw a spanner in the works but why that wall? To me it looks like the space above your cupboards is crying out for attention. You’ve got a fab space to play with their so of it was mine, I’d match the tiles with paint and use the cupboard tops as shelves for display of lovely ornaments or rarely used (but aesthetically pleasing) kitchen and/or dining pots.....and in answer to the original question have the art wall white. Other than my suggestion if you leave the cupboard walls white then i‘d paint the art wall in a fave colour for impact (I see you have some red stools, go daring!)

I would say you can put any colour with black. In garden design,it is recommended to limit hard landscaping to 3 materials. It makes it more uniform and cohesive, so depending on what else you have going on in the garden it may look better to limit paint colour choice to one.
