What material is it on the wall?

Hi Everyone,

Please guide how can i have same wood panel design on my wall. what material is this and who can do this? where to find it?

A carpenter/joiner should be able to do this for you.

Another vote for Dekton and Sileston Quartz worktops, use them all the time in our projects as so much more forgiving and low maintenance than granite or marble. Agree that Corian is a good option if you have a large island to prevent visible joins, whilst it has other benefits you do need to be very careful when it comes to heat. Vast range of colours and textures in all types nowadays so the type of material shouldn't limit the effect you want to achieve - be that traditional or contemporary. I am always a big advocate that a worktop is an investment, there is no point spending a large sum on a beautiful quality kitchen and then finishing it off with a worktop that won't stand up to time as well as the rest of the room or cheapen the look - I always recommend to go for the best you can afford.

Hi Bry R! Choosing a kitchen worktop is a very personal choice where a couple of factors come into play. You will need to consider and prioritise: budget, look/feel, durability, usage/sensitivity. Leaving budget out for a second we reviewed your 3 materials Quartz, laminate and concrete for you: Quartz - Beautiful stone that can be used anywhere, even near the hob and sink. On the durability side, it is a very tough stone ( especially in composite form) that is more durable than many other natural stones. Also potential scratches can be sanded out if needed! Very easy to maintain. Concrete - It looks amazing. But in our opinion, a kitchen is more practical than just an aesthetic feature… but this is very personal! Concrete is more sensitive to staining of food and water. So either you need to use a food-grade sealer, get out the chopping board, or order takeaway! Concrete can also be sensitive to scratching. Last but not least given that it is heavy, you might need to rethink about your cabinetry for reinforcement. Laminate - Very flexible and can be used for all surfaces. Can also mimic any natural materials you like ( even concrete!). It is very sensitive to heat and you cannot test your vegetable cutting on it! But apart from that it is pretty resistant to stains and chemicals. Its cost even allows you to change the look of your kitchen with just changing the worktop in couple of years time, without breaking the bank. If your budget stretches it, we would advise the quartz unless you love the look of concrete and you don’t mind giving a bit more care and love to this stunning beauty in your home! Thank you to both of you. The colour palatte is really useful. Ive been looking at different materials, mostly natural stone or porcelain cladding. Im also considering a rendered wall. I took a drive round the neighbourhood today to see what I liked the look of.

Hi Heather, Thank you for sharing your project, particularly love your choice of flooring, it will look beautiful. A few further design pointers for you: Starting Point: Select your doors and hardware first, then search for skirting which might have a feature you can pull out to compliment the doors and hardware, see image below from UK Howdens – see the stepping effect on the skirting board replicated within the door trim? (these are the types of small but effective details interior designers look out for) Painting Oak: As suggested by the Houzz community – we also would avoid overpainting Oak, it is an expensive material and is designed to showcase its own natural beauty without the need for a painted coating. Flooring Selection: The beautiful flooring you have already selected will be the main focal point throughout – especially the herringbone pattern and natural graining in the wood, framing your door with a similar wood might cause a boxed in effect within the spaces. If you are looking to achieve a framing effect this could easily be done within the flooring – see border image within flooring below: Door Handles: Door handles are a very clever way to extend your interior design style theme – down to the finest details you have accurately already captured the mid-century modern feel with your chosen selection of matt black, think about the shape you are opting for in addition. Skirting Sizes: - In terms of sizes: it would be at your personal discression, it also worth noting that the current size is encased in a colour that does not showcase the grooved design. The average height for skirting boards throughout the UK is 145mm (approximately 6 inches). When it comes to choosing the height for your skirting, it comes down to personal preference. We have found that our most popular sizes range from 120mm (approximately 5 inches) up to 220mm (approximately 9 inches). Start by measuring your current skirting and mark out the difference between what is currently there and the size of designs you like. The image below features the higher version with similar flooring you have selected. Opting for plain white skirting to showcase your flooring, doors and any additional accessories you plan on implementing would be our best guidance, simplicity is key when it comes to skirting boards.
