Room inspiration needed!
I am new to this site and would love to pick your creative brains! I have attached a photo of my open plan living/dining area. I have experimented with the configuration, and decided I do want to keep the dining area nearest the kitchen and the sofa area near the glass doors which lead onto the garden. This really opens the space up, means I use it all more, and it also means if I have one sofa in the middle of the room facing the glass doors I can sit on the sofa and look out into the garden.
My issue is that I do want either a big L shaped sofa or two normal 2/3 seaters - as this is the only sitting communal area in the flat. So the current sofa (or a version of) needs to remain where it is, which means the very big tv needs to go over the little window. I work in tv so i have to watch a lot of it - i want it opposite a sofa. The little window provides no visible extra light and I am prepared to block it up. Please could I have peoples thoughts on this? What would you do? I am hoping to get a comfy / scandi / modern vibe going in this room (new rug, painting piano, new sofas etc). Sadly i cant get rid of the radiator cover as it houses a LOT of plumbing. I would love your thoughts!
Perhaps theres a way of doing a 3d plan online for free I dont know about?

Comments (9)Hello a bit late, perhaps your room is done? :) I would just say not to go with the blues and grays, our living room currently has oatmeal carpet, we recently moved in and put our chocolate brown couches and gold/cream/beige striped silk cushions in there. There was a blue feature wall and we had to paint it ! Looked awful. We are eventually changing the whole room for a black/gray/white scheme but as it is, blue and gray definitely don't match. Of all the paint options celerygirl posted I like the dark rich shades the best. Maybe just a feature wall if you're hesitant and the other 3 off-white. Comments (13)Hi. It’s a lovely room.Without knowing which way it faces (plus are the sofas mink with a pink undertone as they look different in each photo!) I might go for something like f&b brinjal in first pic (or a berry type colour) with maybe skimming stone on the other walls. If in budget I’d swap the clock for a larger brass mirroR. I’d add a brass floor lamp one side of the sofa and the other a similar style side table to 4th pic with a table lamp. A set of art prints over the sofa might work, impossible to choose art for someone but Oka do a number of sets you may like. I’d also accessorise the coffee table with things that can’t do your child/ren harm ie book or 2, wooden decorative pieces or puzzle, plant in a basket etc. You could also add baskets on the shelf for the toys...See More
