Help pick curtains for daughters bedroom please!

I am redecoting my daughters bedroom for her birthday on Thursday. This isn't the bedding that will be staying on, ordered two different sets so want some plain curtains so it looks good with both bedding! I have bought a white blackout blind which hasnt arrived yet (can return if ur opinions tell me otherwise on this!) can someone help me find links of what curtains /voile will look good? Her window is 180cm wide x 190 drop.

I'd try to improve the lighting perhaps before you decide on a wall colour. Choose overhead shades and table lamps and ask the supplier if they can recommend what wattage bulbs to use in them. Then ask to try these out at home and see whether there's an improvement. When you get the lighting right for you, the choice of wall colour can start as you will then be able to see tester patches in the lighting you have decided on. P.S. We opted for a "cream box" approach in our bedroom with 3 walls in one shade and the feature wall in a deeper cream with a hessian style textured wallpaper. We have "warmed" the space with wine coloured heavy textured curtains and wine coloured sheets. It's always cheaper to change the bedding/accessories than it is to re-paint or re-paper!

Hi Johnleh, I've just read through your request and I think I can give you some advice! I like the idea of the purple and the paint you have chosen, but how about trying mushroom coloured curtains? If you got them in a good quality, thick material they would look really smart and also complement the fig paint. If it is an option, wooden flooring could work really well - it's what most trendy flats have and it also has a grown up apartment look. I would also suggest adding a free standing plant in one of the corners - this will brighten the room and introduce another colour. You can get a reasonably priced one of these (plus a simple pot to put it in) from places like homebase: https://goo.gl/NCpNsC. Oak furniture would also look great - to tie in with the style of the property, you could even get some in a 1950s style (or good quality vintage) - it's right on trend at the moment. OK i think you have a number of challenges here. First up does that cot not collapse? It looks like a travel cot. If it does then take it down immediately and store it in the loft or under the bed. I'm not sure that your furniture placement is correct. The bed next to the wardrobe looks odd and the bed looks like it is blocking the radiator. Will the head of the bed go against the wall with the single shelf? Personally I'd remove the sink. Sinks in bedrooms are not a good look. Understand that you might need it though if you only have one bathroom though. Remove all of the shelving. Curtains are way too short and should be floor length. Easily fixed by attaching some fabric to the bottom. Your curtain pole is also too low and should be closer to the ceiling. I'd add coving and then a soft grey on the walls. Something like ammonite perhaps or if you want blue then Skylight which is a nice blue/grey (depending on the light) which would go with the blues already present in the carpet and curtains. Much fuller duvet with white bedding, some throws, cushions, rug etc to bring in pattern and texture and a nice bedside lamp.
