How many pieces were used for the marble fireplace surround?

We only did the selection so I do not know how many pieces of tile were used. This is a white oak floor with 50% Ebony + 50% white stain. Thanks for contacting Kirkendall Design.

Your room has lovely proportions. I think you can afford to go for a slightly darker floor but not as dark as the furniture. Oak would be lovely as it's very rich without being too dark. I know you said you are happy with the position of everything but maybe just try the TV against the wall on the right rather than centred in the window? Although the unit would need to be flush with the wall, you could angle the TV for the best view. The bay window is such a beautiful feature, it's a pity to hide it. I'd also consider rotating the dining table the other way if it fits, or maybe just pulling it away from the wall a little so it is more central. As to colours, I'm not sure exactly what colour your sofas are, are they pink or brown? Hard to tell in the photo. With brown, the world is your oyster, blues are lovely or red if you like bold colours. If they're pink, I'd consider grey or sage green. Consider roman blinds for the bay window with co ordinating curtains on the window at the other end. A wide vertical stripe would be very smart and crisp. Choose your blinds/ curtains before paint as it's a harder and more expensive decision! When all of that is done, look for a rug, a few cushions and throws to bring it all together. Good luck!

Thanks all for your help, we haven't got underfloor heating and I have two very messy boys especially with water so I think engineered wood is out and so are real tiles as they would be so cold. Its a north facing room so I'm very aware I need to warm the look of the room up as the grey and the white walls are looking very stark now. Karndean, amtico and poyflor are the companies i'll look at then. Has anyone used polyflor? They seem much cheaper than the other two companies? And oneplan would grey flooring look weird against the grey wood Worktop? Bit too matchy? I'd like to go a bit more modern Scandi kitchen. Unfortunately my husband likes country style hence the kitchen handles and look we chose. But now I want to warm it up a bit and give it a more Scandi look?! Thanks for your help

I'd go for an engineered oak floor with a white seal or a similar less expensive floor. There are good and relatively inexpensive floors in the home stores, no need at all to spend a huge amount. I also like the marble-look flooring shown above. Topps Tiles have "marble" porcelain tiles which look great, I've just used one on bathroom walls.
