For me, the thing that throws it 'off' is the two mirrors. Theyre creating a visual 'box' which feels unnatural. I think it would look more relaxed if the eye was drawn up from table to headboard, and then back down again. I think its good to have variation in heights when there is more than object on a wall (the cityscape trick!).

Hi. I'd remove the breakfast bar. What may work is wooden shelves either side of your tall units using infills at the side so effectively a mix of these 2 pics. Use the shelves for stacking your bowls and plates etc with a couple of decorative accessories. I can't quite see though whether this gives enough space for the sink? Do you also have a row of plug sockets either side? If this isn't do'able what may possibly work is If you continue the worktop under those 2 cabinets. I'd get a tester of a similar colour paint and just paint underneath to see what you think. I'd then just a splashback behind the hob. I'd then add texture for accessories as colourhappy said. The lights don't appear to be placed suitably for a pendant so perhaps a swing arm or arc lamp over the dining table will add interest and height.

Hi. I'm not sure if you're buying the fern prints or just whether they're for inspiration? I might go for navy bedding but keep a couple of pillows white (presumably they're safe?!). Then I'd layer a faux fur throw to bring in the rustic element over the top of the navy throw (pick your dogs fur colour!). Then I'd pick out the mustard from the curtains, these cushions are by Clarissa Hulse. You can add a fern on the chest of drawers. I might also add some mirrors behind the lamps
