How can I make my kitchen design/layout more practical?
Comments (13)The design layout could do with changing if this is a two chef kitchen - as currently hob and sink share same floor standing space, the DW when open blocks the walkway - oven is danger to anyone opening door... The FF is not what you want - the list goes on !!! Difficult to help further with no sizes - I could guess from the doors - but no head on shot of the right wall so a bit tricky - this could be a 'very quick' job as a sketch consult on an hourly rate, if you want pro help - drop me an email ! If you were thinking of using ikea for example - you could buy and have installed the carcase's, drawers, worktop, sink and appliances and then add the facia fronts as and when you have spare cash - this would stretch your money a little further ... £4k is still a lot of money - invest it wisely !...See MoreCountry Cottage Renovation on a Budget!
Comments (5)Thank you Daisy and Nicky! The colours are actually a bit deeper and more sophisticated in real life. The dark wood had to go just leaving us with nice oak and pine in similar tones. The bannister is actually not white but grey, a shade darker than the walls which I think looks more interesting in a small place with fairly pale walls....See MoreTime for a new bathroom…
Comments (0)Hi fellow Houzzers I’m renovating a bungalow and budget is now tighter than ever having carried out the full rewire, new heating, new hot water system, replastering, kitchen…etc. I now need to work on the bathroom. Image shows the plan of the current room which has an east facing window with a sill 1220 above floor level (the window is new and is fully obscured). There is a new door into the room, too, which is ivory and cream with horizontally banded wood pattern. The bath I would like to have is this https://www.cabuchon.com/product/takara-deep-soaking-bath-tub/ but I would also like a separate walk in shower. I do have mobility issues but it would be nice to have an occasional soak in a tub and this is the best and most appropriate tub I’ve found. The radiator is a standard 1980s panel rad which is the last one to be replaced and can be moved as long as I’m prepared to dig into the concrete screed (I’m not against doing that, though). Of the existing, water hungry, green sanitary ware, the sink, pedestal, wc and bath remain and we’ve taken out the bidet (next to the bath) already. There is a single switched ceiling light and a decent extraction fan in the ceiling. I do have a reasonably equipped en suite with a walk in shower that has a minimal height shower tray so time for completion for the main bathroom isn’t an issue. Thoughts on a layout? The measurements are reasonably accurate. Ideally, I wouldn’t like to sit in the tub with my back to the door!...See Morewhat are the best ideas to renovate my kitchen
