Suggestions for hall radiator please
Comments (15)I agree with the comments about covering whatever you have with a radiator cover - to reduce ugliness and provide a really useful shelf above. However, whether you go down that route or not, the location is a super-important aspect. Mine is in exactly the wrong place - and it was my decision - and I regret it every day. The trouble is that it took a lot of drilling through concrete below original terracotta tiles (I had no idea it would mean that) so if I move it again it means more wrecked floor and how the pipes would work is impossible to imagine. I can't cover it up with a cover as it is in a small corner next to the front door and fits the space exactly, end to end. A cover would stop the door from opening. I had hopeless advice from the plumber installing the radiator; advice I have to live with - bitterly. Mine is in a hall like yours with the radiator opposite yours but facing the hall (my window is half length). I didn't want it where yours is as I thought it would protrude just where people arrive or leave. I reckon yours is in the right place; it just needs to be prettied up a bit....See MoreNarrow victorian hall - where to store stuff
Comments (12)Hi. I agree with OnePlan. However if you're going ahead with the loo you could potentially install storage either side of the fire in the dining room. I'd have open shelves in the small alcove and a full height "wardrobe" in the other. However bear in mind the coats would need to hang the other way round to normal (I can't think of the right word to use!) due to the depth of the wardrobe. It might be useful for other storage too though if it's floor to ceiling and planned well internally. A really large mirror opposite the fire would help open it up again. It might be an option to consider anyway...See MoreHallway Radiator and coat storage dilemma. Very small area.
Comments (3)Good afternoon! I also cant view the video but looking at your floor plans I would suggest putting a vertical radiator behind the front door on the left side and on the other side of the sitting room door I would put up some coat hooks for a modern yet practical look - as per the photo you could have a paneled wall behind, but there are so many variations of hooks and styles that you can choose. I also wouldn't advise having anything underneath the hooks due to making sure there is space for all of your coats and also I'm not sure that the width of the hall would take it well. Please see the photos that I have found as ideas and let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Comments (6)@Marina Drobot thank you so much for the thoughtful redesign! It's looks fantastic and we're very tempted to follow it with the masses of storage and kitchen space - however we really want the additional living space. We love the idea of the whole overall space being a communal area, and the living space is a big part of that. Your design is very creative and not something we would have thought of ourselves. Thank you....See MoreNicola M
