Glass banisters/balustrades - any opinions please?

Hi all, we are having a loft conversion/extension done in the new year and will have a new staircase into the loft, which will go above our existing stairs. Wondering whether to change the existing balustrade (normal type wood spindles) and go for new glass panels along the landing and then up the new staircase/gallery in the loft. Anyone got any advice on this please? Wondering if finger marks drive you crazy maybe? Thanks
