colour matching
Comments (2)And maybe you could place the recliner to the left of the sofa, on the big red arrow :) Could the two kids chairs not in use be stored elsewhere? There's also too much furniture along the walls. See if you can find a nice cabinet to replace the shelving and tv (or for now place the tv on top of the drawers and the media box on the shelves)....See MorePaint colour to match red batik Topps tiles
Comments (4)Hi Jacky1h, Am I right in saying the tiles in my photo are the ones you're asking about? (Image 1) If so, is the red paint you're looking for to paint the whole room? If it is I'd discourage the use of red paint unless used for a feature wall as it can have a harsh effect on the room; making it appear smaller and dark. However, depending on the size of the room, I'd suggest from Rectory Red (Image 2) by Farrow and Ball as a feature wall paint. It's an earthy red and its use would compliment the tiles, it's the closest match I could find, you could then keep other walls crisp white and dot around red accents, thus colour mixing and balancing the room. Although, if you're definitely wanting to paint all walls I'd suggest a washed out brown (image 3) this is Eating Room Red by Farrow and Ball, it isn't too 'red' as though to darken the room, however it does have red undertones and will therefore compliment your choice of tile whilst not making the room appear small and cramped. Hope this helps. Meredith...See Morepale grey kitchen, white worktops - wall colours ??
Comments (5)Thank you Sophie. Your kitchen is lovely and is exactly the look Im aiming for. I'm thinking of something like F&B strong white for the walls. Do you recall the colour you used ?...See Morecalling white paint experts
Comments (1)I feel, if you were to choose any white for the walls, my first thought is that there are too many "whites" in the equation, which I'd hazard a guess they will all be very different and if that is the case, at best at least one will look dirty/grey/yellow/cream against the others and at worst it will look like a poor attempt (and failing) at matching. I would be inclined to ditch the idea of bright white or similar and perhaps lean a little towards something with a pinkish tone, because northern light is very blue and can make things feel a lot cooler, even if you do get some good light. You can still get a whitish colour, but I think a pinker hue will compliment the grey, make the white seem brighter and warm up the room. You could still have the bright white on the ceiling, but having a white close the cabinets and worktop may look just wrong....See MoreChristine Hollern
