Composite door on Victorian house?

I'm looking to replace the timber front door of my Victorian semi and am wondering if it's worth considering a composite door. Initially I only considered timber due to wanting to respect the style of the property, but have been advised that it composite doors nowadays do look in keeping with period properties. I'm aware that they are tougher, more secure and require less maintenance- but want to be sure it will look right. I'm going to be restoring all of the wooden sash windows and am concerned that having a modern looking door is going to look odd. I'd be interested to hear from anyone with a victorian house who has a composite door.

Thanks.
