A previous tenant put mirrors in many cupboard doors. She was due to leave the house as she found it, but she didn’t. Our plan is to sell the house, so I don’t want to spend a lot of money replacing wardrobe doors. I believe covering them with white vinyl maybe the best option, but Ali need to find someone who is skillfull at doing this. Do you know anyone? Thank you!

Comments (115)Oh I am completely green with envy! To buy a beautiful house and score all that gorgeous furniture - how fabulous! I haven't read all the posts but agree that to paint most of these pieces would be a crying shame. I also agree with having a few antique dealers look at your furniture and assess it's value; then sell the pieces you're not so fond of & enjoy those pieces you love.. At the risk of causing upset to anyone, the only pieces I'd consider painting would be those that are damaged beyond restoration but could still be usable &/or functional.... Comments (84)We have just purchased what we hope to be our last house. It is a very big plot and we are looking to knock down and get planning for a very large house over 4 floors. (12,000 sq ft). We know what we want internally however our issue lies with the external look and feel. My wife wants classic new build, with pillar entrance, sash box windows with stone cills or surroundings (Surrey Commuter belt!). Comments (27)We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Here is the photo from my kitchen door - anything attached to the walls were already there from the previous residents and will be removed... such as the mirror which isn't in line with that hideous folding table and the strange religious wall in the corner.... plus the half finished wallpaper on the chimney breast lol. x...See Morevinyl roll or tiles?
Comments (6)Hello, I don't want to add a further complication but what is under your current laminate floor? If it is concrete you might need to screed the floor before laying roll or tile vinyl which could be a challenge if you can only do sections of the room at a time. You also mention water damage, I don't know what the cause of this was but if it was flooding you should also check moisture levels in case a damp proof membrane is also needed If you are getting a local supplier to fit the new flooring they will be able to advise you. If you end up going down the vinyl route a good fitter (assuming a team of 2) could work around your furniture and still lay a roll. Vinyl planks or tiles look better but obviously cost more. If fitted properly they should be able to resist dog accidents....See More
