Comments (22)I think the interior of the rooms can be brightened/tweaked with lots of different approaches. Here a few examples: Photo one: bright, zen inspired furniture, lighter flooring(terazzo/carpet/wood). Organic colours.. Photo two: same thing, notice the bed fairly close the window. You could do that by having a pony wall/installation behind the bed as in photo three. Obviously not in wood, since your ceiling has enough of it present. Photo four: if you keep the wooden ceiling you can create interest and break up the stripe monotony with an interesting/large fixture....See MoreHelp to modernise a 1970's house
Comments (33)Just another opinion...I like the suggestion that others posted to remove the bush and if possible, to put entry door in it's place, to remove the post and replace it with a support beam and brackets, replace garage door, add low wall to separate your driveway from the neighbor's, plant a dwarf tree in the front yard along with some edging plants... But with so many possibilities to choose from, perhaps you could accomplish your desire to make your home stand out from the others inexpensively by...painting over the white part of the house, the downspout directly above the canopy and the garage door to match the lightest brick color. Choose the darkest brick color for all of the other trim and windows. Patch and seal the driveway to freshen it (until you know if you will be permitted to do anything more permanent), definitely taking out the bush and doing some low cost planting just to add some color. It takes time to settle on your needs, style, budget, etc. But it's worthwhile to spend a little cash and effort to get a bit of satisfaction that things are looking better!...See MoreA new build with massive nod to Mid Century Modern movement in Cali.
Comments (10)Business great thanks ! Hence I only get time to post early mornings or evenings ! I figured it would be the route along to the bedrooms - but I thought it would be with bedrooms only opening off one side, not both ? ie the outer part of the L, not the garden side ? Or the middle - So you have me a little confused? ...if mainly one way traffic 1m is fine but will look very long - but better if it's garden side and has glass to one side . If you can squeeze 1.2 - 1.5 that would cope better with two and fro traffic and shouldn't look quite so long ! Especially if there's no windows if it's central or at outer edge of building. If you fancy trying a trick with paint - using an ombré effect starting dark at the start of the corridor blending into light at the master bedroom that might help too !! ( works better if done on both sides of a walled corridor ! ) Hope that helps ! :-)...See Morehelp with mid century dining chair restoration
Comments (13)Carolina I love the colours, especially the first one. Thank you for taking the time to find them. I am torn between soft black faux leather which I am sure will be much softer than the existing ancient vinyl and easy to keep clean and the vibrancy and warmth of fabric. Something to play around with in the plan. Thanks again....See MoreE D
