Roof Lantern Issue

Adrian Davies

so back in 2016 we extended out the back of our sitting room with a single story extension, flat roof with roof lantern instead of a conservatory.

Room is used for the childrens toys / tv / sofa so its self contained chaos 😂

Biggest issue i have is its cold in this room and i suspect its all to do with the roof lantern.

It gathers condensation on the plastic inside and sitting there feels like there is a draft constantly.

I have been on roof and found gaps between seal & glazing unit where i have put little blobs of sealant now. However im convinced the lantern is letting out heat / cold in.

So what i am putting out there is the following :

Do you have a roof lantern and does it make room feel cold?

Should i get the pvc unit change to a thermal break aluminium lantern ?

Or would a flat glass tripple glazed unit solve my issue?

Any advice would be great and thanks for reading this (if you got this far!)

See some pictures below to help understand the above 👍
