Comments (6)Hi. I've just had a nosy through your ideabook and activity :) as the room is north facing I'd go for an inky blue/grey rather than the cool mid tone blues and greys as they would just make the room feel really cold. I've also spotted your post re elephants breath and skimming stone. I would get testers of these, they can work work extremely well in a north facing room but may not in others so try them in different lights. Elephants breath particularly is a great "colour". You could then use warm blues as an accent colour...See MorePaint has gone from grey to blue
Comments (7)This happened me too when we painted my living room in F&B Blackened. I had used it previously in another house and thought it would work in our new house however it’s very blue at certain times of the day. I’ve tried keeping my furniture and accessories neutral and pale which helps. And lots of greenery....See MoreColour advice - blues and greys for a bedroom
Comments (14)Victoria - how funny!!!! Ours is the back bedroom of a Victorian terrace. We’re doing 3 walls white and 1 in the de Nimes - the same one as you, behind the headboard! Although I like the Purbeck Stone and the Worsted, I think it’s maybe too muted and a different / more traditional feel against the crisp white. (Although i’m absolutely no expert!!!). I think we’re going to keep our inherited oak bed as it is and then possible go darker on the painted bits. We might even go completely opposite and head whiter.... Ours is just a spare room, so not particularly important or with any need to impress a teenage boy!!! On a slightly related matter, my son converted to a grown up room a few years ago and we kept it quite simple with Lamp Room Grey walls and white furniture. Keeping it simple has stood the test of time. My daughter (with the Purbeck Stone) had her room done about a year ago with more muted colours, including painted furniture. She announced last week that she already wants to change it!!...See Morejanet_allen8
