Which tile trim should I use?

Hi everyone,

I'm using Delta Smoke tiles on my bathroom walls (half tiled along one wall)

And Delta Anthracite on the floor.

Taps etc are chrome... any thoughts on what colour tile trim I should use? My tiler has suggested chrome but I'm not sure. It would run along the edges of the shower and where the tile meets the painted wall. I was wondering if a matt. black or very dark grey would work??

I would definitely go with a tile trim that matches the tiles, so light grey would be best. My bathroom has been completing refurbished and we used a Carrera marble effect tile with a light grey tile trim. It looks beautiful. We also have chrome taps. Good luck on whatever colour you decide on.

Yep I agree with Julie. Chrome trim would look a bit dated I think.

Hi, I'm not sure why a radiator heated from the central heating would not be permitted. I'm not aware of any water regulations that would stop it (that's not saying there aren't!). What reason was given? Will the radiator be directly over the bath or on the wall lower than the bath? Electrically, there are zones in a bathroom. Any electrical equipment placed inside a zone must be suitable for that zone. Here is an explanation of the zones: http://electrical.theiet.org/wiring-matters/53/section-701/index.cfm I suspect that the radiator would be in zone 1, possibly zone 2. The radiator (and wiring supplying it) to be suitable for that zone. My thoughts are to check with a radiator manufacturer about installing a plumbed radiator next to the bath and see what they say. I like the last picture as everything matches, which is one of my concerns, as I definitely don’t want a white front door and I can’t change my white windows and garage door. Maybe I’ll match the front door with whatever cladding colour I go with!

Thanks guys, well in that case I will call into b and q it as is not too much further. (plus we need to buy some other stuff from there too) I am not sure we will be able to find out whether it was skimmed over as the house was built in the 80's and we have only lived here 3 years.. I am tempted to go to b and q and ask someone there then they might persuade him/ advise. I will remember sugar scrub too, I didn't think of that!

I also prefer the 2nd option as having the living space separate to the bedroom space is ideal. You also have 2 storage cupboards in the hallway? You could utilise these for extra clothing or knock through from the small bedroom into the one cupboard to give a wardrobe space (hard without physically seeing it to know if that would work of course) kitchen wise - yes it isn’t as long but it has a nice shape (plus the balcony!) and I think you could add a peninsular island to this to create a dining space. If it comes off the wall with seating then it take up less space than a dining table and will give you more living space. Get some gas lift padded comfy stools with foot rest and you won’t notice it’s not a standard dining table! Plus it’s extra cooking/prep space when you have company.

I’ve got simple white as I didn’t want chrome which was far too shiny for my tastes. Soft grey would be perfect.

Thanks everyone, I’ve not been able to find a soft grey but these are the choices...chrome or cast iron (the floor is the same colour as the trim)
