Width of kitchen in this photo?

Hi just wondering the width of this kitchen and how much space has been left between island seating side and wall?

Thanks for your question!

The full kitchen width is 3800mm and the distance between the breakfast bar and the wall is 1000mm. I hope that this information is helpful for you.

Yes that's great thanks....I was hoping it would be similar to my kitchen width so I could do a similar layout but unfortunately mine is only 3270 width. Thanks for your help

Hi Sara. If you want doors at the end I'd go for a galley with built in seating similar to this. Opposite way round for yours though with tall units (with appliances) and banquette on right. I'd just have base units on the left and stop them where the tall units opposite end if you want to keep the side door. I would look at moving the boiler though and you may have to change the dining room window as it looks low although there may be other ways to deal with this. I think french doors would be nice, perhaps painted in a dark shade?

I think the beds will be fine, just be careful with what you put in them. Box is slow growing to start with, but when it finds it's feet after a few years it looks lovely. You will need to prune them at least twice a year once established to keep them tight and low. Bay trees are a good idea as they too are evergreen, and hardy, also slow growing. I wouldn't choose olive trees, i've not found one hardy enough yet that didn't die at some point during exceptionally cold winters, plus they're big trees when they get going! Anthing that says hardy to -5 or even -10 is unlikely to survice the harshest winter, they're not designed for the british climate ie Olianders etc If you're lucky enough to have a walled garden, then you can get away with a few more species as the walls offer protection. You can train Rosemary and Lavender into great low level hedging, both very hardy. Standard roses are great for colour and as long as you prune correctly, go on for donkeys years. If you're not iso much in to flowers and prefer the crisp, sleek and modern style as above, then why not look in to some of the fabulous grasses?? Easy to maintain, come in a whole host of colours, black, dark mauve, variegated...........they'd go very well with your look.
