How to cover UFH tubes and manifolds?

We couldn't fit the UFH manifolds etc. in a cabinet so we had it ended on a spare wall in the utility room. However it is much bigger with all the accessories installed. There are cabinets on both side and they can be mostly opened right now. Does anyone have any idea how we can cover a little bit of the tubes? Especially the part come out from the flooring? Lol, Jesse, I had to study that photo AVSinteriors posted forever to figure out what you meant about the tile direction but after I did I do see what you mean. I never thought of it that way but logic states the water would run off the vertical lengths of grout far more successfully than it will the horizontal! I went in the current family bathroom and had a look at the tiling - very interesting. And a plan changer. I'm glad we hadn't gone too far in planning the shower area yet. Well spotted you on that tile, this is the first time I've heard anyone mention that! I love the inset teak mat-floor for the shower area of that wetroom, too.

Hi Chris, I agree with the above that you really need to discuss it with him and let him know that he hasn't worked to your plans (or the designers plans). You don't want to end up further down the line and something happens as a result, or you are unhappy with a space you have put so much time and money into - due to a mistake from someone else. I personally wouldn't have them under the units and don't design it to go underneath with any of my clients as I do keep food in mine and wouldn't want it diminishing the effectiveness of my appliances. Over all it could end up costing more in electricity or running the appliances down sooner. I would get it changed, after all you paid your kitchen designer to design this lovely space for you, which was done properly and should be enjoyed. I'm useless at kitchen design but to me it doesn't seem overly safe or practical. I wouldn't like people sat next to the hob and they're also in the prep area. It's quite a distance from the hob to sink for draining veg etc. Although there's a set down area next to the oven, think about carrying hot dishes to put in soak past people. As I say I'm not a pro so not sure if this would work but a simple change might be to swap oven and fridge. Also put the hob the other side of the island. Keep the stools on the right of island but move others to end. I might also frame the fridge as it might work better aesthetically. Do you also not want a larder with a large family? Where's the dishwasher?

Here’s a few things I’m doing in our planned utility (smaller than yours!) which might work for you: - Electric towel rail for heating so I can easily have that room heated when the general heating is off. Better than underfloor heating for this scenario as ufh is quite slow to warm up, also the towel rail can be used to dry off wet gloves, hats, coats in the winter. - Pocket door so it doesn’t get in the way of any cupboards - Mirrored splashback and handleless doors to make the room seem wider (ours is only 1.7m wide, not so necessary for you perhaps) - Stacked washer and dryer using stacking kit with pull out shelf between. I find this easier than having everything at floor level. If you want yours side by side, I would suggest raising them up a bit to save your back, and get drawers fitted underneath to hold all the laundry liquids. You don’t have any on your plan? I would certainly add some, or open shelves which are more practical but less tidy. In fact I’m having wall cabinets and another row of wall cabinets above them for things used occasionally (christmas decorations etc) as we have high ceilings. - We will have a tall slot next to the broom cupboard to hold ironing board and ladder. - How about a transom/clerestory window (up high) to add more light without getting in the way of cabinets? Or, a narrow window each side of the door would fit, since wall cabinets aren’t as deep as base cabinets.
