Which patio tiles to choose & what do you think of the design? TIA :)
Comments (2)It’s a nice design! Tough choice on the tiles because I like both. I’d carry on the wooden tiles to the edge of the step so it looks streamlined but it’s entirely your choice. Perhaps you can lay the samples out again when your raised beds are done? One thing I notice with the raised beds is I don’t think the one one the left and the curved one will be wide enough. Not sure what you’re using to build them but when you’ve taken into account the thickness of the walls it will leave a lot less then 50cm width for the soil and plants. I’d have at least 40cm for the soil width (better for the plants) and an extra say 10cm for the wall each side but this is assuming they’re brick or block construction. Love the sunken bed idea:)...See Morewhat can I do to hide this ugly fire??
Comments (25)Not a lover of the surround either it was plastered over a hideous brick fireplace (long story) and is staying there until we either move(in a few years) or replace the back boiler and get rid of the offending baxi altogether!! Got solid oak flooring I will have to replace that one I scale it down a bit as well...See MorePatio design area help
Comments (0)I have a big garden and we would like to make a siting area at the corner where we can enjoy the sun in summer. The main problem is what we can do with the space between the new sitting area and the decker. If we add a path to link the two what can be added between the path and the fence on the right side of the garden? See below a draft sketch I did, any suggestions?...See MoreIdeas for patio area
Comments (2)All your ideas are great and will make the area a lovely spot to sit in. Consider buying an outdoor rug and some solar lights (try jysk) and some string lights (Amazon) to bring evening atmosphere and a few mirrors maybe like I’ve done at the side of our house. Leveling the patio would be a lot of work and may not be worthwhile if you are redoing the garden next year. Try your existing furniture to see if it’s level enough to sit in now. I cannot see a gutter on the opposite end of the extension which would be needed for your water butt. Consider removing the cordyline when you redo the garden longer term. The debris from the leaves falling and seeds are a real pain for a patio area....See Morerinked
