Hot water tap sink advice

Hi, I have 2 questions re. hot water taps. We have purchased a modern signature Qettle. One of the levers goes backwards and our kitchen lady said we need to be careful which sink we get as there needs to be at least 100mm between tap and window for that lever the move backwards. How much space is there normally between the back of the sink and the wall? Do we need a more shallow sink (if this even exists!) Some friends have just been told they can't use their sink and there won't be enough space
And I'd like a composite sink, will this be able to withstand the 100degree water hitting it?

Grrrr just did a reply and lost it all.

It depends on the depth of the worktop as some are 600mm deep and some 650mm deep. It’s all in the planning.

Some sinks are supplied with a hole already in and some have no hole so you fit the tap in the worktop.

I have the Qettle but mine is boiling water and filtered water so I also have the standard tap too. It’s a different design to yours.

Do not pour the boiling water direct into the sink. It’s an absolute no. There have been reports of Blanco sinks splitting because of this. I always put the mug under the boiling water tap before turning it on.

It depends. I have one of those taps & it has a very slow flow, so I also have a normal hot/cold tap BUT there is a new instant hot water/distilled cold water tap that has the same flow as a normal hot/cold tap. I can't remember who it's by but if you google it, I'm sure you'll be able to find out. Hope this helps!

We want to fit an insinkerator HC3300 tap alongside a waste disposal on our prep sink. This will be the only tap on the sink and corncerned that there might not be enough water coming out of the tap to run the waste disposal?

Mains feed, if it is a Quooker fusion, drinking water shouldn't be softened by a full on water softener.

Thanks Daisy! It's a brand new kitchen with no worktop templates yet so does that mean I could choose to get a deeper one or does it depend on the depth of the cabinets?

We are having an undermount sink with a hole cut through the worktop hopefully

I wish mine would load but I’m in my holiday home and the wifi isn’t very good. Takes forever 😤 Mine was inserted in a solid surface which was 620mm deep. Depth of base cabinets are all the same size.

Just be aware that the boiler and filter in the base unit take up a lot of space so you will only have just about half the cupboard for storage.

Here is mine which is in a 620mm deep solid worktop. My ordinary taps have quite a long handle on. I don’t think you should have a problem.
