Cracking paint/plaster

Can anybody help explain this cracking and peeling apparently this has been repaired before and it’s come back again I’ve quoted to cover in plastic hygiene bored but would really like to know what the causes thanks in advance

It's caused by the paint not adhering to the surface. This can happen if the wall was not properly prepared e.g. the wall was covered in dust or the wall is super absorbent and dried the paint out too quickly. You need to remove all the flaking paint and and then use a primer to prepare the wall then repaint.

Hi. How many coats have been applied? I may be wrong but I think this type of cracking occurs when the first coat hasn't dried out enough before the next was applied (I've done this myself several times when applying testers on card/paper as I was too impatient to wait!)

The first photo looks like its missing architrave which would cover the edge, you can see the skirting board ends short like it should but up against something (Usually architrave if its a door) Second looks like it could be water/moisture from the sink or window causing it to peel, check the window isn't failing, you should be able to tell if its damp coming out if you leave a piece of cling film (or any plastic) on it over a day and night, if theres condensation under it in the morning its damp coming out.

I tried to look through my pics and see what was done on this room wrt plaster Usually,for the ground floor they used those grey ? plasterboards ,then plastered them and then painted Don’t think it was done in these rooms Mel Builder’s quote mentioned Due to the amount of damaged caused by the chasing for the electrics and heating pipes we recommend that these are filled with bonding compound and then all walls to the bedrooms, bathroom, landing, stairs, lounge, kitchen/sitting room, utility are unibond and skimmed with new beading where required. Labour and material £4200.00
