Which company makes the floor to ceiling cupboard?

I like the fact that this cupboard makes teh best use of the space by extending from floor to ceiling. Hard to find a company which produces them.

I think I would opt for a lightly textured white-ish worktop and something similar for the floor. Pure white in floortiles or worktops show every crumb, speck of dust and mark, and with your white metro tiles (which I love and specify often), runs the risk of being too "clinical". With a texture (marble or quartz effect), it will keep your room bright (you seem to have limited window for lighting) while being much more practical to live with. To include a slight "grey" tone would work well, and greys are very "now"! There are many lovely worktops (try looking at the Duropal website for inspiration) with a little pattern/texture which will mix white and grey tones and perhaps pick up on the tones from your wood. Why not pop into your local independent kitchen showroom - they'll have lots of samples for you to look at (probably more than the big "chains") and are normally more than happy for you to borrow sample pieces/swatches to try out at home. They'll be able to advise on the different makes/qualities and give you pricing to supply and/or fit. They'll probably have lots of tile and flooring samples for you to look at too! Having just gone through exactly the same process and spent literally hours trawling the internet, visiting showrooms and speaking to companies on the phone we ended up ordering with Unfitted from Moreton-in -Marsh. Other companies we considered were deVOL (rather expensive!) and Main kitchen company in York. Unfitted pricing is very comparable to Evie Willow and a bit more than Shaker Kitchen Company, however they have a showroom you can go and view the cabinetry. They are also super, super helpful, nothing is too much trouble and they will come out for free and help with designs, ideas etc. Ask for Mark the owner.

I think that these cabinets are a nice choice and I think wood has a natural warm ness so hubby shouldn’t worry it will look cold. Most likely he means that it is too pale for his taste but of course you can add colour to the wall later if he still feels that way. Perhaps you can find a wallpaper you like for a feature wall in the snug. I also liked some of the concrete style tile suggestions. For me I am not keen on kitchen layout particularly the oven position and the peninsula. I think the peninsula cuts in half an otherwise spacious room and is a barrier to accessing your fridge and oven. To me it feels like you missed the opportunity to make the kitchen feel bigger and the kitchen is probably occupying a very similar position to the outgoing one even though walls have moved. Personally I think you should be investigating a plan where your oven and fridge are towards the area you have put a breakfast bar. If you have longer runs of units this helps you see the wide drawers which is a particular feature of this contemporary kitchen. You could also increase the distance between the sink and the hob which is of course your working area. Personally I think the room would be feel bigger without the shown peninsula breakfast bar and instead a bistro table by the garden doors.

Don’t forget that any cupboards over about 2.4m tall will be too tall to ever use and if you box in the space no one sees it. Plus there is a cost implication- most likely you will be buying far more cabinets. Personally I think you should get the tallest standard size kitchen cabinet you can, add LED lights on top of the cabinet for ambiance and then get a statement light fitting to help fill this voluminous space.
