Can anyone advise me what to do about changing a poured resin floor?

The house I've moved into has a bright red floor which the previous owners tell me is poured resin. I really dislike the colour, and I'm trying to find out if I can change this in any way - another colour "poured" over the top, or maybe painting it, or can I lay some other floor type over it? It's a large expanse, throughout the kitchen/diner, and also the utility room and downstairs loo so budget is a consideration. I have tried asking resin flooring companies online but 3 of them have now ignored my request, and google searches assume this is an epoxy resin garage floor! Has anyone here got any experience of this type of flooring?
