what style are the units ?

I am getting kitchen refitted and looking for units from Howdens. I love the simplicity and clean lines of this kitchen.

After waiting 2 weeks from January order of oak window sill, ledge shelves and flat shelves that arrived 4 months later, then another month for fitter to find half a day to fit us in... TOMORROW'S THE DAY. And we're ready. Might even get some 'after' photos on here.

Help - B&Q vanity unit - what toilet can I have?

Hi, the link supplied is the whole package which is the unit, the L-shaped sink and the toilet. The only thing not supplied with that is the taps and waste. You can buy all the bits seperately, but that's a pack. This is the cupboard on it's own, B&Q Vanity Unit which you could purchase and have pretty much any back to the Wall toilet. However, the cupboard is L-shaped and requires the exact sink on top. Go for the pack, buy the taps and waste!

Light grey kitchen units....now what...?!

If a grey is made up of black + white it can be very cold. However, if a grey is a de-saturated grey of a colour such as Dakar or Lamp Room Grey then it can make things easier. I would opt for a floor that has some warmth, without a doubt. Don't forget, whatever you choose now may be with you for years, so I would avoid the 'obvious'. As the flooring is potentially one of the most expensive parts of the scheme, make that your focus. Grey units and white worktops will look cool, so you can afford to go for something warm with the floor. This could be tiles in a buff colour, tiles that are terracotta (I would bet money on these making a comeback), patterned tiles or wood. Mandarin Stone has some lovely buff concrete style tiles, Porcelanosa has amazing patterned tiles and Topps do one called Sculpt is a buff colour worth checking out.

I love this contrast between the modern kitchen and the traditional features of a room I’m guessing is Georgian. Is there ornate coving at the ceiling? If so, then simply decorate the area above the units to match the rest of the room and emphasise the contrast. If there’s no coving then you could do as Jonathon suggests: box in above the units but at a depth of 30cm rather than the full depth of the cabinets, and creating a semi-recessed appearance. Hopefully that would give sufficient space for your ceiling lights. And, this would also allow you to fit a display shelf across the remaining space - if you wished - that is less deep and therefore more functional and easily accessible.
