Need help for bathroom floor marbles .
Comments (7)Hi shahina, Thank you so much for the compliment! Cappucino and Emperador marbles are simply different colors--just like Carrara and Emperador Dark are different colors. Different lots of each stone look different, which could explain why the Cappucino and Emperador Light slabs that you saw look similar. Every now and then, some colors will look very close to one another--it just tends to happen because of the natural variation. No, I do not think that Emperador Dark would be too dark for your bathroom, as long as you keep the other tile and paint colors on the lighter side. I have attached photos of Emperador Dark marble bathrooms for you to see. It is a very beautiful and sophisticated stone. When you mention the Crema Marfil color on the wall, are you referring to other tile that you already have on your walls? [houzz=] [houzz=]...See MoreNeed urgent help with countertop choices
Comments (16)Ideally you want only 1 bossy / busy fixed element. At the moment you have lots going on with the mosaics and the wall tiles and a mixture of undertones. On the whole granites and marbles also demand to be the centre of attention which is why I would suggest you select a very plain countertop. You'll probably find a few which are well within the granite/marble price bracket. Decide which is the largest visual undertone and use that for the countertop....See MoreNeed help designing this bathroom
Comments (21)Hello Yan, wanted to show you an idea of colour scheme for your bathroom. I decided to keep up with your layout idea and I noticed you like grey and wood in interior. In addition, SA contemporary style isn't much about colours but more about textures to keep interior simple and rich. In general, interior is neutral with couple of small colour accents, which can be easily updated or changed in time. There is no drama that sink in front of window! Moreover it gives fantastic advantages to use natural light. You can hang oval mirror at the window frame. In the evening hours, you can use illumination from wall light above window. Flooring is grey brushed concrete tiles with soft matt texture. Wood like porcelain tiles use for walls from the left and right, including curves. That's how you unite broken wall on a left and make it longer and identical. Tiles for walls around window and the opposite side ( including all curves and around door) should be the same - light grey with stone like texture. Grey tone on walls is lighter than on a floor. Here are screen shots (everything is in scale, actual bathroom size): I hope concept is easy to understand, let me know if you have any questions....See MoreNeed help with our small bathroom
Comments (25)I wouldn't change much regarding the layout/placement of white goods either. But it'd be possible to get some extra. For example, an L- or P-shaped shower bath would get a nicer shower space. You'd end up with the wider part by the window though so may then also consider opaque glazing or a screen there. A concealed cistern in the back wall would bring that forward by around 10cm. If you don't want to loose all that space, a boxed-in cistern and shelves above may give you a little storage back. On the washing machine: you triggered my inner geek :-) This may be possible. You need to research a few things for this: A) a slim depth washing machine (usually 425mm) B) availability of a height reduction kit for it (if these are avail gets height down from 850mm to 800mm) C) use an extra-flat bottle trap for the basin D) partly embed that into a thin washtable (to make the surface then a total of ~100mm above the machine) If all these go together it should just be possible to fit washtable, drains, basin trap and the machine underneath into a box about 910x600x500mm (HxWxD) which is kitchen unit height. The countertop sink would sit above that. Maybe a little bit of extra space could be gained still if you'd construct a basin from a flat shower tray with an integrated trap (a Wedi fundo plano is 60mm high) but I'm not sure how to put the washing machine drain on then. Good luck!...See Morekmedl
