Perfect fit blinds

We live in a relatively new buld house and are in the process of decorating. The only windows in the living room are french door with a full legth glass pane either. We currently have curtains that hang freely, however, i am considering perfect fit blinds and no curtains. The curtains prevent the walls either side of the windows being used.Does anyone have this? ive seen it in kitchens and dining rooms but not a living room.

I have blinds only in my home office - works fine.

Thinking about some more behind the main curtains in the front room to block evening/low sun.

I will endorse the firm I used - very simple provided you're happy/able to put them up yourself. "blindstogo"

You could go full scaninavian and no blinds at all!

Thank you all for your comments. I have been looking into some curtains just to sit either side if the window as a dressing. We have just moved the furniture around as you suggested Jen. Not sure if you think this is an improvement? I think the radiator might be in the way? But I do like it. I have just order 2 lamp tables for either side of the sofa and a glass coffee table for the middle of the sofas. We do have a mirror and some pictures to put up but I wanted to be sure of the layout before I committed. I have also got some wallpaper samples and am wondering about a feature wall? But then what happens if I want to move things round again! Thanks again for helping.

hi which way is your diningroom facing? some colours and temperatures are better for certain directions. is the room naturally dark? what colours are in rooms next to this/ rest of the house? what do you like? also remember things like gloss level (?) of the paint. I would maybe go for a light but colourfull colour I.e. light bright blue , but that's just me.

Hi Ruth House, if you opt for light voile linen style curtains, which sound lovely by the way! You can get tracks which look like poles from Silent Gliss which look very neat, you could opt for a wave heading for a contemporary look. If you are going for a neutral paint a white track would almost disappear and not look too heavy. Another option could be having blinds installed into the glass. Hope this helps!

Yes I've considered that myself, but on top of the whole house renovation and trying to stick to budgets it's last on the list, so I'm trying to think of a way to make this look right!! It's a challenge
