Lovely color scheme

What is the name of the quartz countertop. Are the cabinets wood? What is the lower cabinet color? What tile is the back splash?

Hi, it's a stencil on backsplash not tile. The color on bottom cabinet is high gloss Greyloft on maple.

As you want to keep the room nice and light I would try to pick a fabric a couple of shades lighter than your walls. If you don't like a lot of pattern that perhaps keep it plain or maybe a stripe to break up the space on the walls. I would go for a roman blind on the small window to avoid it looking overcrowded and long curtains for the patio doors.

A wonderful find if you are into this style and type of fireplace, we have 3 in our house and I salvaged another from a neighbour who was chucking one out. Tile paint takes a bit of prep first so can be time consuming and the finish does not always look great, you may end up making them look worse. It is a question of do you remove part of the history of the house or just leave alone for other people in the future to maybe appreciate them. Just be aware some of these fireplaces had Asbestos rope in behind, for this reason at my work which is for a local housing association, we no longer remove tiled fireplaces and instead have custom made fire surrounds which fit over the top thus encapsulating them.

Hi all, Just wanted to thank you all for your advices. In the end, we painted the recess white and put a frame (made out of MDF cut to size) around the mirror. I painted the frame the same colour as the painted walls. We then wallpaper the wall (but not the recess) I am very pleased with the results (even if it took us about 3 months to finish a tiny toilet ahah!) Hope you will like it too :)
