Which way should I run laminate floor planks?

We would like to use laminate floor planks in our hallway, kitchen and inner hall. It would be great to run it througjh the kitchen to the inner hall to keep the direction, however which way should we run the entrance hall? Would it be better to run it at 90 degrees to the kitchen along the long length of the entrance hall and use a thrshold at the kitchen / entrance hall door?
