Does it look odd that new path doesn't align with door?
Comments (28)Glad you persevered and had it fixed. You paid a lot of money to specifically have a decorative path. It being out of line on LHS with the front door would have been a permanent niggle that prevented you from enjoying it. Now you have a beautiful symmetrical path leading up to your front door. Comments (1)Hi Tsc! Hope you are well, I work with Farrow & ball paints. Best solution would be is to strip the existing paint and use a primer. The best finish you would used would be an Estate eggshell, which has a slight sheen to it. You will need the slight sheen for durability, to be able to clean and wipe. Otherwise most paints are now water based. This means they dry quicker and less chemicals are involved. Water based paints do not effect durability, it's about getting the right finish. Hope this helps!...See MorePaint colour for Kitchen cupboards and tiles?
Comments (13)Hi Tricia. I agree with the other comments that painting kitchen cabinets is a lot of work and I don’t think you would be better pleased with the end result. Some cabinets can take painting better than others. For a different idea you could extend the wall cabinets almost up to the ceiling by either finding extra wall units or if you’re handy with diy creating them yourself. Then replace doors with some mdf panels which you can then prime/paint yourself (see pics below for the kinda thing I was thinking of). Mdf doesn’t cost all that much but if you’re not confident with cutting or drilling hinge holes then a local joiner could do this for you. Wouldn’t normally recommend painting tiles but if it’s just short term then it’s maybe worth a try. I wouldnt use any wood panels behind a gas hob tho, might be a fire risk....See MoreMoney doesn’t buy taste...
Comments (20)Watched a bit of this last night. To be fair to the chap, it's my understanding that all he does now (after selling the phone company for approx 1.5billion) is philanthropy. His raison'd'etre for remodeling the house in that way apparently was to attract the most wealthy to parties held there and then get money from them for the causes he supports. The interior design was not to my taste but if I was forced to choose between his decor and a McMansion, I think I would actually choose his. Rather than blander than bland grey shiny everything at least his does have a bit of personality....See MoreHU-259124376
