The stone used in this project is the Blu 60 Slate. The pool coping is not our product unfortunately.

My hand-bag should be much lighter these days but it's not. Big ones are away from home, small ones are teens - so old enough to cram all their worldly goods into their own pockets + suck it up if anything is lost/broken in their care. Now handbag is full of elderly relative's goods - prescription meds, haemorrhoid creams, spare nebuliser capsules, pocket hankies, spare catheter bag, his appointment cards, his paperwork, his pension card + shopping list, Vicks Vapo-rub, a caipín .... Car emptied of pushchairs + buggies + car-seats, replaced with walking sticks, 4 wheel rollator, Handybar for ease of getting in + out. Have learner plates + disability sticker on windscreen ... Ho hum

Starting growing my own veg when we landscaped our garden and added raised beds a few years ago. Also have a tiny lean-to greenhouse which is good for starting things off but it's a bit too easy to forget about things I've put in there! We have a crab apple tree which I've used to make crab apple chutney and jelly. I've grown potatoes, peas, courgettes, carrots, onions, raspberries, strawberries, spinach & salad leaves fairly successfully. Tomatoes & squash didn't go so well! I most enjoy growing things I can pick direct from the garden and eat/cook straight away. The peas and salad also look quite nice in the garden. Our raised beds were filled with soil that was dug up from elsewhere in the garden (including lots of stones which seem impossible to remove and I'm now just considering as drainage...) & I dig in compost each year. I rotate the crops I can but I'm not sure if it really makes any difference. Slugs and snails are a problem! They don't seem to like red lettuce though so I have plenty of that!

Hi Rowen, I can't quite identify the knobs/handles in Claire's images (and there are quite a few others in this thread!), but we may be able to help source what you are looking for. We have a variety of hadle suppliers, but one of our favourite for "cup & knob" in a variety of lovely finishes is Crofts & Assinder - crofts.co.uk - a really great, British company with some lovely designs and finishes. Have a browse of the website and see if any are close to what you seek. If you give me an idea of which is the style you particularly like, happy to try and help. Has anyone used outdoor grade porcelain as a patio?

This is just my opinion about porcelain, some people don’t have the same opinion. The non slip factor is fabulous and you can walk barefoot on it in the rain and it’s steady underfloot. It is only the difficulty of cleaning R13 porcelain that is annoying. A lower grade like R11 is easier to clean. I’ve bought a jet washer so we shall see how that goes.
